Gun Report of the Week

Glock 34 9mm

Overview

Not much has changed on the Glock 34, and it is still the most popular choice for Practical Shooting competitors, including Dave Sevigny, the most prolific winner in the history of the USPSA Production division. The G34 featured a 5.3-inch barrel on a full-size frame that housed a 17-round magazine. The G34 has a large cutout in the top of its slide. It might just be the easiest way to produce a slide of the proper weight so that reciprocation remains smooth and reliable. More...

STUN GUNS FOR PERSONAL PROTECTION

A recent survey states that 20 percent of US women have survived at least one incident of sexual harassment or physical torture. Violence against women are common nowadays even in developed countries like United States, England, and other European countries. It comes in many ways by means of physical, sexual, or psychological and sometimes financial. The younger age and children are the common targets of this violence against women. Surveys show that this violence is not only coming from outside but sometimes even from persons related to those who got assaulted such as their partners or relatives. Even though every country has strict laws against those people who are torturing women, the torture rate is high nowadays. It seems to be growing day by day. So it''s now in our hands to protect ourselves from these morons. A range of products are available today for self defense which includes stun guns, pepper sprays, other defense sprays etc.

This article discusses about the features of the most advanced non-lethal self defense weapon, stun guns. Basically stun guns work electrically which can produce a high voltage of electricity enough to disable an attacker. The prong which is at the open part of the stun gun is used to pass electricity on attackers by simply touching them with it. Since it doesn''t cause any serious or permanent injuries you have nothing to worry about the persons who are attacking you. However while using stun guns you should follow the instructions on how to use these guns against your attackers properly. Some of the stun guns out there in the market will produce a 5 second energy burst on your attacker which is enough for you to get away from the attacker.

There are even some other advanced stun guns are out there which resemble a camera or cell phone inside a pouch. They will really give you an edge in that the attacker will think that you are really carrying a cell phone and not a stun gun in your hands. First thing you should do after getting a stun gun is do a practice with them to handle them properly. Because of the high voltage produced from this gun a slight percentage of self harm may take place with the improper use. So the wise thing is practice with them for a while before taking somebody out. The next thing you should consider while going out is about the charge on the stun guns. They must be fully charged before taking them outside. Accidents will happen in no time, so keep your self defense weapons with you always to maintain your distance from potential attackers.
